*LEKWA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY CELEBRATES MANDELA DAY"

Today the 18th of July 2019 Lekwa Local Municipality celebrated Mandela day by helping Mbako Constructions hand over a newly built RDP house to Ms Ntombi Selepe whose house burnt down on the 4th of February 2019. Mr Josias of Mbako Constructions heard about the fire and decided to help rebuild the house for Ntombi and her family which they moved back into last week Thursday the 11 of July 2019. Today electricity was fitted into the house by the Municipality. The Municipality appreciates the helping hand from Ngako Construction.

Cllr M.S Radebe-Khumala who was acting Executive Mayor for the day together with other Municipal Councillors then moved to Inhlosenhle Home Based Care center to give blankets to the elderly who are based at the home.

Joy and sense of appreciation can be seen through the eyes of the elderly when they received their blankets. Speaker of Council, Cllr. Khota helped the Acting Executive Mayor to hand over the blankets.
