Executive Mayor assesses Water Treatment Plant upgrades

499671178 1166282998875873 2750081675405950891 nExecutive Mayor Cllr Sifiso Mngemezulu conducted an oversight visit to the Water Treatment Plant as part of efforts to monitor recent upgrades and ensure operational improvements are delivering results for our communities.

The visit focused on key areas including water reticulation, pressure levels, abstraction points, and the performance of the running pumps and their outflow.

The Executive Mayor said he was encouraged to see the great progress that will ultimately go a long way in improving water suppliying.

“We found that all 5 raw water pumps are operational and the clear water pumps are running as expected. This forms part of our ongoing efforts to stabilise the system and build up sufficient pressure to ensure consistent water supply to our communities.

“These imporvements are part of our broader efforts to stabilise the system and build sufficient pressure to ensure a consistent water supply to our communities.

The Executive Mayor further stated: “I am encouraged to report that some areas have already started receiving water, and pressure continues to build throughout the network. Our teams are working around the clock to ensure that all areas have access to water by morning.”

“I remain fully committed to doing the necessary work to ensure every household enjoys reliable access to clean, running water,” he concluded.
