In a significant development for the local infrastructure, the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) has officially commenced the refurbishment of the R546 Vrede road, an essential transport link for Free State and Mpumalanga. This much-needed project aims to improve road safety and driving conditions for both local residents and commuters.
The commencement of the refurbishment was officially overseen by Executive Mayor Cllr Sifiso Mngemezulu, he highlighted the importance of the project for both economic development and the community’s well-being. “The R546 Vrede road plays a crucial role in our province’s connectivity, and its refurbishment will not only enhance road safety but also stimulate local businesses and improve the daily lives of our residents,” Cllr Mngemezulu.
