Executive mayor gets a destitute family proper accommodation

Jun 17, 2025

While inspecting illegal electricity connections in Ext 6, Executive, Cllr. Sifiso Mngemezulu together with MMC for Planning and Economic Development Cllr. Sesana Masondo and Cllr Rose Motloung came across a heart-wrenching situation of a mother of three living in inhumane condition.

Deeply touched by her plight, the Executive Mayor swiftly identified an unoccupied nearby house with the assistance of Manager: Human Settlements Mr. Mazwi Tladi.

The owners of house agreed to assist the municipality to place the mother and her children in their fully furnished home until the municipality can provide the mother with her own secure place.

“We want to appreciate Ubuntu shown by the Nhlapho family by availing their unoccupied house to the needy family during this very cold winter,” he said.

This initiative showcases the municipality’s efforts to address the needs of it’s most vulnerable residents and foster a sense of community and support.
