The Executive Mayor of Lekwa Local Municipality, Cllr. Sifiso Mngemezulu has announced the appointment of the Mayoral Committee during the continuation of the Ordinary Council Meeting on Thursday, 14 November 2024.
In his statement Executive Mayor Mngemezulu emphasised his commitment and determination to improving and accelerating service delivery for all residents.
“I am here taking a significant step towards fulfilling that commitment by announcing the mayoral committee,” said Mngemezulu.
He assured the community that providing quality services is non-negotiable, and residents can rest assured that service delivery was not a political game.
He said the new mayoral committee would strengthen effective oversight and good governance to build a better municipality.
Cllr. Phindile Mahlaba was appointed MMC of Corporate Services; Cllr. Sesana Masondo MMC of Planning and Economic Development; Cllr. Litheko Marago MMC of Technical Services; Cllr. Mapaseka Molaba MMC of Community Services and Safety and Cllr. Thabang Motaung MMC of Budget and Treasury.
“I congratulate the newly appointed members and wish them well in their new responsibilities. In them, I have a strong team who will work tirelessly to advance the development of our residents,” concluded Mngemezulu.
