Lekwa Local Municipality Receives State-of-the-Art Facilities from Seriti

On November 2, 2024, Executive Mayor, Cllr. Sifiso Mngemezulu received, on behalf of ward 14 community, a state-of-the-art ambulance, training facilities to three early childhood development centres,17 wheelchairs and 130 food parcels to senior citizens, donated by Seriti.

This highlighted the mining company’s dedication to community support and development.

The handover was elevated to the provincial status as it was overseen by the Premier, Mr. Mandla Ndlovu accompanied by MEC for the Department of Health, Sasekani Manzini, MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport Mr Thulasizwe Thomo and Gert Sibande District Executive Mayor Cllr. Walter Mngomezulu.

The donation was part of Seriti’s broader commitment to social responsibility and positive community impact. The company aims to uplift and support South African communities through various initiatives.

Executive Mayor Cllr. Sifiso Mngemezulu expressed his gratitude, stating, “We are truly thankful to Seriti Mines for these invaluable donations. They will go a long way in improving the health and well-being of our community members.”
