Lekwa Local Municipality supports Siyathuthuka Soccer Tournament with crucial equipment

WhatsApp Image 2024 11 29 at 13.54.49In a generous show of support for community development and sports, the Lekwa Local Municipality MMC for Community Services and Safety, Cllr. Mapaseka Molaba, has handed over key sports equipment to Kwandile Hlabisa

Hlabisa is the organiser of the upcoming Siyathuthuka Soccer Tournament and had submitted a request the municipality to assist with necessities that would make the tournament a success. He is excited that the his requests were met with warm and prompt response, and he is optimistic that the tournament will be a success.

The donation includes a soccer ball, a trophy, and two ball post nets and is aimed at ensuring that the highly anticipated Siyathuthuka Soccer Tournament is a resounding success.

The tournament took place on the 30th November 2024 at Extension 6.

The handover of sports equipment by the municipality is part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to support grassroots initiatives and promote sports development within the community. MMC Mapaseka Molaba expressed her commitment to uplifting the youth and encouraging healthy recreational activities.

“We believe that sports can play a crucial role in uniting communities and providing positive outcomes for young people. By supporting events like the Siyathuthuka Tournament, we hope to inspire more individuals to get involved in sports and contribute to building a strong, vibrant community,” said MMC. Molaba.
