NYDA Empowers People Living with Disabilities Through Entrepreneurship Training

IMG 5644People living with disabilities have successfully completed the Start Your Business entrepreneurship training course, held from 7 to 11 July 2025 at ATech disability centre, facilitated by the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).

The training forms part of the Start and Improve Your Business programme, developed in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), and is designed to empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills and confidence to start and manage their own businesses.

A certificate handover ceremony was held at ATech to recognise the achievements of the participants. The event was attended by:

Cllr. Molaba, MMC for Community Services and Safety

Ms. Nokuthula Mabuza, Transversal unit from Gert Sibande District Municipality

Speaking at the event, Cllr Molaba expressed her support for inclusive development, saying:

> “The ATech Disability Centre is close to my heart. My office is always open to assist people living with disabilities. We are committed to ensuring that no one is left behind.”

This initiative reflects the Municipality’s and NYDA’s shared vision of promoting economic inclusion and supporting vulnerable communities.
