Lekwa Local Municipality has, in the past week, concluded its Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget consultative outreach program to its wards.
This was aimed at allowing the residents to engage in the review of the IDP and Budget for the 2024/2025 financial year which starts in July 2024.
“The IDP and the budget outreach give an opportunity to influence the IPD and Budget in terms of what they want to be prioritized for their wards,” commented MMC for Planning and Economic Development Cllr. Thabo Sebiloane.
He said now that the consultation process has been completed, the municipality will consolidate all the input from various wards and prepare a draft IDP and Budget which the Executive Mayor must table to the Council before the end of March 2024 as directed by the Municipal Systems Act and Finance Management Act.
“After the draft IDP and Budget has been approved by Council, stakeholders and the community will once again be afforded the opportunity to inspect these document and comment within 21 days of the notice to do so, which will published on local newspaper and the municipal website,” he added.
