Lekwa Local Municipality proudly participated in the 2025 South African Municipal Wellness Association (SAMWA) Games, which took place in Rustenburg from 22 to 26 September 2025. This prestigious annual sporting event brought together municipalities from across the country, fostering healthy competition, promoting employee wellness, and strengthening collaboration within the local government sector.
This year’s games saw a wide range of sporting codes, including netball, Soccer, darts, pool, and tug of war all of which tested the skill, endurance, and teamwork of participants. Lekwa Local Municipality was represented by a dedicated team of employees who competed with passion and determination, making their municipality proud.
We are thrilled to announce that both our netball and soccer teams secured places in the Top 4, a remarkable achievement that highlights not only the talent of our athletes but also the spirit of perseverance and excellence within our workforce. These results are a testament to the hours of preparation and teamwork that went into representing Lekwa on a national stage.
