Lekwa Local Municipality held a consultative meeting with key stakeholders as part of preparations for the upcoming launch of the Road and Transport Forum.
The meeting brought together representatives from the transport sector, municipal officials, and other relevant stakeholders to discuss the objectives and structure of the forum.
The purpose of the meeting was to engage stakeholders, gather inputs, and ensure that the establishment of the Road and Transport Forum is inclusive and responsive to the needs of the transport industry and the community.
The forum aims to create a platform where transport operators, government, and other partners can collaborate on matters affecting road safety, public transport operations, and service delivery within the municipality.
During the engagement, stakeholders shared their views, challenges, and expectations regarding the transport sector. These discussions will help shape the agenda and priorities of the forum once it is officially launched.
MMC for Community Services and Safety, Cllr. Mapaseka Molaba, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the municipality and transport stakeholders.
“We want the Road and Transport Forum to serve as a platform where we can engage openly with the transport sector, address challenges collectively, and work together to improve road safety and transport services for our community,” said MMC Molaba.
The municipality will continue to engage with stakeholders as it finalizes preparations for the official launch of the Road and Transport Forum.
The initiative is expected to strengthen cooperation and improve coordination on road and transport-related matters in the Lekwa.
