Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Planning and Economic Development, Cllr. Masondo, conducted an oversight visit to the Standerton Mall
construction site to assess progress on the development.
The visit forms part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to monitor key infrastructure and economic development projects aimed at boosting local
growth and improving service delivery.
During the inspection, MMC Masondo engaged with the project manager to evaluate construction milestones, adherence to timelines, and overall project
performance.
The Standerton Mall development is a significant investment in the local economy and is expected to create job opportunities, enhance retail offerings, and contribute to the revitalisation of the area.
According to the latest project update, construction is progressing steadily, with the estimated completion date set for February 2027.
MMC Masondo expressed satisfaction with the progress made thus far and emphasised the importance of maintaining momentum to ensure timely delivery.
“This development represents a major step forward for Standerton. It will not only improve access to retail services but also stimulate economic activity and job creation. We will continue to monitor progress closely to ensure that the project is completed within the set timeframe,” said MMC Masondo.
