The MMC for Community Services and Safety, Cllr. Mapaseka Molaba, showed strong dedication to community upliftment by carrying out multiple demanding activities across the municipality. Her day was marked by the successful reopening of the Stanwest Library, through the Friends of the Library, as well as the continuation of Operation Shanela, an initiative aimed at addressing and eliminating illegal dumping sites. The facility has been refurbished to provide a conducive learning environment, equipped with improved study spaces and access to educational resources for learners, job seekers, and the broader community.

Addressing the significance of the day’s engagements, MMC Molaba stated: “The municipality’s mission is to ensure that our communities have access to essential services while also taking pride in their surroundings.

The reopening of the Stanwest Library is a step towards empowering our people through knowledge.

While Operation Shanela is about restoring dignity by ensuring a clean and healthy environment.

These initiatives require all of us to work together for sustainable impact.”

Meanwhile, in another equally crucial programme, various schools across the municipality were awarded Certificates of Excellence in recognition of their outstanding performance in the 2025 Matric results. The programme celebrated both educators and learners for their hard work and resilience, while also motivating current learners to strive for academic success.

Through these coordinated efforts, MMC Molaba reaffirmed the municipality’s dedication to service delivery, environmental management, and the empowerment of communities through education and active civic participation.
