The Executive Mayor of Lekwa Local Municipality, Councillor Sifiso Mngemezulu, today joined the Lekwa Pastors Fraternity in hosting a special prayer session dedicated to the Matric Class of 2026.
The prayer session was held at Sakhile Hall and brought together pastors from across Lekwa to pray for the learners as they prepare for their final examinations. The session focused on asking for God’s guidance, wisdom, strength, courage and success for the Class of 2026 during this important stage of their academic journey.
Addressing the learners, the Executive Mayor encouraged them to remain focused and committed to their studies. He reminded them that the final year of school is an important stepping stone towards achieving their dreams and building a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.
The Mayor further expressed his commitment to supporting young people and creating opportunities for them to pursue their educational aspirations. He pledged to work with relevant stakeholders to assist the top five performing learners from the Class of 2026.
The prayer session also highlighted the important role played by parents, teachers, community leaders and faith-based organisations in supporting learners and encouraging them to remain on the right path.
The Municipality extends its best wishes to the Matric Class of 2026 and encourages all learners to work hard, remain disciplined and believe in their abilities as they prepare for their final examinations.
