The Lekwa Local Municipality working jointly with Trainers Without Borders has concluded a two-day Exit Training Programme for participants of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP), held at the Standerton Town Hall from 29 to 30 June 2026.
The programme marked the successful completion of the learners’ one-year term of service with the municipality, during which they made valuable contributions to various municipal projects and operational activities while gaining practical workplace experience.
As part of the municipality’s commitment to empowering young people with skills beyond their term of service, the Exit Training Programme focused on comprehensive first aid and emergency response training.
The programme was designed to equip participants with practical, life-saving skills that will enhance their employability and preparedness as they transition into the labour market.
All participants will be receiving accredited certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the training. The certifications will serve as a testament to their commitment and newly acquired skills, providing them with an added advantage as they pursue further education, career development, and sustainable employment opportunities.
Lekwa local municipality remains committed to investing in skills development initiatives that empower communities, create opportunities, and prepare young people for a brighter future.
