The Lekwa Local Municipality hosted an Employee Mental Awareness Campaign at the Standerton Town Hall, focusing on the well-being of its personnel.
The programme aimed to equip and educate employees on matters relating to mental health and financial management, acknowledging the link between personal well-being, financial stability, and productivity in the workplace.
As part of the event, cultural performances were showcased, bringing vibrancy and unity to the gathering as the municipality marked the closing of Heritage Month. The performances showed the municipality’s workforce diversity and highlighted the value of celebrating culture together with employee wellness.
Delivering the vote of thanks, MMC for Community Services and Safety Cllr. Mapaseka Molaba, emphasised the municipality’s commitment to prioritising employee wellness.
“Taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health. This programme is a reminder that we value our employees, not only for the work they do but also for their overall well-being. We encourage staff to use the knowledge gained today to live healthier, more balanced lives” she stated.
The campaign highlighted the municipality’s ongoing efforts to create a supportive working environment while investing in both the professional and personal growth of its employees.
