Lekwa Local Municipality has today relaunched the Local Disability Forum during a session held in the Council Chamber of the main administrative building.
The relaunch marks an important step in strengthening the municipality’s commitment to inclusivity and equal access to opportunities for all residents. The Local Disability Forum is designed to be a vital platform that amplifies the voices of persons with disabilities, ensuring their life experiences, needs and challenges are fully acknowledged in policy development and municipal planning.
During the meeting, participants engaged on key issues affecting persons with disability.
The forum also aims to promote awareness, reduce stigma, and advocate for improved service delivery that upholds the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities.
