As the new academic year begins for learners and prospective students, I extend warm congratulation to the matric class of 2025 learners as the National Senior Certificate (NSC) results are set to be announced by the Basic Education Minister on 12 January 2026.
Completing matric is a significant milestone that reflects resilience, commitment and determination. I commend all learners for their perseverance throughout the academic year, and I applaud parents, guardians, educators, and school management teams for their unwavering support and dedication in shaping the future of our children.
As results will be announced, I encourage learners to receive them with humility and courage. For those who achieved their desired results, may they open doors to further education, training and employment opportunities. For those who may have not obtained the results they hoped for, I remind you that this is not the end of the road, and further urge parents to support and encourage them to sign up for the Second Chance Matric Programme.
I also extend my best wishes to learners who are starting matric in 2026, as well as all learners returning to school this academic year. May 2026 be a year of focus, discipline, and academic excellence. I urge learners to take full advantage of the opportunities provided to them and to remain committed to their studies.
