The Gert Sibande District Municipality together with Lekwa Local Municipality hosted a Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise (SMME) Workshop at the Standerton Town Hall.
The primary objective of the workshop was to equip SMMEs with essential knowledge and practical skills in key areas such as Financial Management, Marketing and Operations, Compliance and Governance, as well as Security Contracts and Supplier Development.
During the session valuable insights were shared regarding, managing business finances effectively, developing marketing strategies to expand market reach, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.
The workshop created an open and interactive dialogue where business owners had the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and raise concerns affecting their enterprises. The engagement promoted collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and stronger partnerships between the municipalities and the local business community.
Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the information shared would significantly contribute to the growth and formalisation of their businesses. The municipalities reaffirmed their commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs and stimulating economic development by creating platforms that support compliance and access to opportunities.
