The Executive Mayor, Councillor Sifiso Mngemezulu, together with MMC Masondo for Planning and Economic Development, conducted a site visit today at the Standerton Mall construction site.
During the visit, Mr. Dhlamini from Sky Village the developer behind the project provided an update on the progress. He confirmed that construction is advancing well, with completion expected by June 2026.
Mayor Mngemezulu expressed his satisfaction with the development, stating that the project represents real progress for the people of Standerton. He noted that the mall will not only bring much-needed retail options closer to residents, but also create job opportunities during and after construction.
He also emphasized the importance of municipal oversight and ensuring that development in the town is people-centered, transparent, and delivered on time. According to the Mayor, the project is expected to uplift the local economy and improve the daily lives of residents.
The visit highlights the municipality’s ongoing commitment to supporting infrastructure and economic development that directly benefits the community.
