LLM conducts IDP and Budget consultations outreach

May 14, 2024

Lekwa Local Municipality is currently undertaking the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget for public consultation to all its wards. The main purpose of public consultation is to engage local resident on the draft IDP and Budget for the 2024/2025 financial year.

“The IDP and the budget outreach gives an opportunity to influence the IDP and Budget in terms of what they want to be prioritized for their wards,” commented MMC for Planning and Economic Development Cllr. Thabo Sebiloane.

“This is the second round of public consultation on the IDP and Budget, the first round was in February and first week of March, when we were preparing for the draft IDP and Budget which were subsequently adopted by Council on 02 April 2024.

“This was followed by the public call for people to comment within 21 days on these very important strategic documents that anchor development programmes that the municipality will be undertaking in the financial year starting on 01 July 2024,” he said.

Once the public consultation meetings have been concluded in the wards, the final document will be prepared and tabled to Council for final adoption.

“We urge our residents to attend, comment and read these documents as we will publish them on the municipal website as they will need them to hold us as their public representatives accountable,” he concluded.
