Tornado hits Thuthukani damaging power lines

Electrical infrastructure and properties damaged when tornado accompanied by heavy rain and hailstorm hit Seriti and Thuthukani yesterday.

This has affected power lines that are supplying electricity to Morgenzon.

Fire, rescue, and disaster management are still busy with the assessment to determine the extent of the damage.

As the assessment continues, fire, rescue and disaster management officials will be coordinating services to assist affected communities.

The municipality urges all affected communities that need assistance to contact the fire, rescue, and disaster management on 017 712 5458.
